WSJ reporting microsoft in talks to buy minority stake in facebook
Tuesday, September 25th, 2007Deal would value fb at 10b and could quickly give ms a position in the growing online recruitment space.
Wow integration of desktop os (windows) with web os (facebook) could be sick.
I would what it could mean to online recruiting. At this point…nothing.

Yahoo! Recruitment Advertising
Monday, July 2nd, 2007Go Beyond the Job Board with Yahoo! Recruitment Advertising.

Yahoo! Recruitment AdvertisingReach both active and passive candidates |
You can target passive and active talent on the Yahoo! Network with Yahoo! Recruitment Advertising. Here’s how… |
|
|
|
You can target talent by the keywords they search on sites like Yahoo! Search and Yahoo! HotJobs. You can target passive job seekers in particular on sites like Yahoo! Finance or OMG by the industry or occupation that they provide Yahoo! in their account preferences. Other targeting capabilities include location based targeting where Yahoo! will show your recruitment ads only to those active or passive job seekers logging onto the Yahoo! Network from your local area and behavioral targeting. Behavioral targeting is a more complex targeting technology that I’ll explain in more detail later. |

Nurse Recruitment Advertising
Monday, June 4th, 2007Effective nurse recruitment advertising is not like traditional recruitment advertising. Given the shortage that we currently face, you can’t just post a job or buy a print ad and hope to make a nurse hire. It’s just not happening like that today.
You have to consider what is a local nurse’s online behavior.
What sites does she/he visit daily or monthly? While using search engines, what keywords is she/he searching?
Then make a decision to do what’s necessary to put your employment brand message in the path of local nurses while they are online. In other words, your brand must be part of the nurses’ online experience.
For nurse recruitment advertising, I like search engine marketing. This video demonstrates Yahoo!’s search engine marketing service, Yahoo! Sponsored Search for Recruitment, and why it makes sense for nurse recruiting.
Be cautious not to cut out active job boards from your nurse recruitment advertising plans. They still have a very practical application in nurse recruitment advertising.
The use of an active job board in your nurse recruitment advertising plan may be counter-intuitive since nurses are rarely active, but keep in mind that top talent is still using active job boards. This talent just uses job boards differently; as demonstrated here.
