BanyanLink launches, fails to be interesting

BanyanLink,
‘the premier professional utility and online network designed for
everything college and beyond,’ launched today. Crains’ Amanda Fung covers it here.

It looks like its
another social network for college student trying to connect w
employers and vice versa (see Kickstart). I think Facebook and LinkedIn have this covered.

Path101 is a more interesting
startup focused on college students. Rather than just connecting
students with organizations, it helps college kids figure out what
career path is best for them. This sort of personalized intelligence is highly valuable, not more friends on social networks.

Although we are displeased with Mr. Martone’s initial review of BanyanLink, I am pleased to say that you will be very impressed with what BanyanLink has coming in the Spring.
And to our thousands of members and our hundreds of corporate clients, thank you for your support and positive feedback during our successful beta launch.
We look forward to helping all of our members find the best jobs in a tough market, and to helping our recruiter clients find the best possible candidates.
If anyone wishes to send us feedback, please feel free to do so via info@banyanlink.com
